JUNIOR RUGBY PROGRAM
From Introductory beginners clinics through to Middle School competition
RUGBY 101 SKILL CLINICS
Various clinics are held throughout the year and these are free to attend. No special equipment is required simple gym attire is acceptable. Parents must attend and sign a consent form.
Rugby 101 Skill Clinics are the ideal introduction to Rugby Union. These clinics offer a gentle introduction to rugby with emphasis on the rules of the game and the skills of passing, running and teamwork. Participants are divided into age and weight groups and contact is strictly monitored. As a parent this is an ideal way to learn the game and evaluate your child's interest.
GRADES 5 & 6 (U 11)
This is the start of competitive rugby and the final year where girls and boys play in combined teams. Rugby attire is needed and club membership is required.
U 11 is the start of competitive rugby however emphasis is placed on enjoyment and safety. A modified form of rugby is played that progressively develops the individuals skills, fitness, and confidence. The spirit of team work is fostered and encouraged in accordance with their physical maturity and overall understanding of the game
GRADES 7 & 8 (U 13)
While the U13 age group starts to get competitive we focus on teamwork, enjoyment of the game and physical development above winning. This keeps the players learning and enjoying this wonderful game.
The U 13 team play in a league which includes home and away games which requires the club to travel. Rugby attire is required and club membership is required. This is the ideal platform for high school rugby.
